King Black Dragon

Level: 276
HP: 242
Type: Dragon

Location:
The King Black Dragon, or KBD, is found in a cavern in mid-level Wilderness. The ladder to the poison spiders is found West of the Lava Maze in the Lesser Demon Cage. I would recommend to drink an antipoison potion before going in and down the ladder as on the bottom, there are a sea of poison spiders. Run to the wall and pull the lever quickly and be teleported to the KBD's lair. He will sometimes use his fireball which can hit you and you not seeing him so be on your guard!

Attack:
The KBD has 3 types of attack, a normal close combat crush, a close combat fire-breath and a long distant fireball.
1) The main attack of the KBD is a simple headbut or a jab with his claw. He can do quite a bit of damage like most creatures so watch out!
King Black Dragon Melee Attack

2) The second attack is a clost fire-breath. Pretty hot unless you have an Antifire sheild or the Antifire potions. But since Desert Treasure came out, he has had 4 more types of breath adding to his plain fire. Ice (blue) and poison (green) to name a few and they have the same effects of the Ancient Magicks.

3) His long distance fireball can be deadly to rangers as can the close one (but rangers tend to stand further away) so dont get hit; or better still, dont come as a ranger. He can also use the Desert Treasure effects on these too!

He can NOT hit through prayer so just an antifire sheild (and potions if you want) and Protection from Melee prayer.
Stay above 50HP as this guy can hit 27 but will probably move onto a different target or will use his breath (not as effective).

Weakness and best drops:

No known weakness, poison works and can be quite useful but nothing more to know about that. His best drops are Dragon Left Half and a Dragon Medium Helmet.

Recommended items:
Just a reminder that it is members and you will be walking through the Wilderness so I recommend bring three or four items. More if you think you wont get PKed but bear in mind Ancient Magicks could tear a team apart so keep that in mind while choosing.
King Black Dragon Hunting Equipment
But most ancient mages will be up north near the Mage Bank etc so being this bold but remembering item protect wouldnt be a worry.
Prayer potions if you want to use prayer, although he spins alot more so if you have good armour and an antifire sheild you should be fine. Lobsters or better with a super set if you want a shot at the items.

Ways in which to confront it:

1) Spread out, make him spin and when he gets going, he does very little attacking!
2) Watch your own HP, he might have poisoned you and you may be low!
3) His fire isnt 'range' as such, they are more mage so if you take some Dragon Hide along with some defence armour, he wont hit hard when he does with what ever attack he uses!
